If an LG washer will not spin, first drain standing water, redistribute a lopsided load, and confirm the door or lid is locked. Persistent OE, UE, LE or dE codes need the matching error-code article and possibly a technician.
Spin is the last mechanical job a washer does. If washing seemed normal but the drum crawls or refuses to ramp up, treat it as a sequence: water out, door locked, load balanced, motor allowed to run.
Drain first
A drum with several litres of water will not spin at high speed. Run a Drain/Spin cycle. If water stays, follow the OE drain error checks: hose, filter, standpipe.
Unbalance is common, not mysterious
A single duvet or a pair of heavy jeans can trip UE. Mix items, do not wrap a sheet into a ball, and avoid overfilling a front-loader. See UE unbalance.
Door lock
Front-loaders will not spin if the lock is open, jammed with detergent residue, or electrically failed. Do not pry the door with a screwdriver while the drum is full.
When the motor hums
A hum without motion can be a foreign object, a seized bearing, or a motor/hall sensor fault (often LE on many LG models). Unplug and look through the door boot for coins. Do not dismantle the rotor without documentation for your exact chassis.
